Blessed Generation Nyamira: Empowering Lives in West Kenya
Children during a photo op
The branch in Nyamira started in the year 2007 ; originally after the post election violence as a temporarily shelter for children .
But while being in the community and getting to know the needs of the people soon it was decided that it was to good to look for a permanent place for Blessed Generation .
A place that could serve as short and long time shelter . A place where children can go to school for free – no school fees . The cooperation with the community is fantastic and the school is having an active school Commitee since the school is donated to the community and the government .
The government provides part of the school budget while the other part is done by the sponsor Blessed Generation from the Netherlands and the community . Fantastic good cooperation . Because this project is carried by so many hand its possible to do a lot . Therefor over 750 children can use the school facilities .
The school runs from baby class to BG Junior plus it runs a SNE(Special Needs Education) section . All the children get a meal plus tea at the school.
